New Ecology, Inc. is developing GreenPrint for Success, a proposed workforce training program for Massachusetts building professionals, supported by a planning grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. For over 25 years, New Ecology has worked at the center of Massachusetts’ affordable housing, energy-efficiency, and high-performance building markets, supporting projects across the Commonwealth and advancing energy codes, building standards, and decarbonization best practices. This program builds directly on that experience. New Ecology is partnering with EquityCorps Group (ECG), which will serve as the lead facilitator for program design and stakeholder engagement.

“For decades, we have worked alongside architects, engineers, contractors, and housing developers across Massachusetts to advance high-performance building practice,” said Kim Stevenson, CEO of New Ecology. “This program is about closing remaining skills gaps and ensuring that small firms and communities that have historically lacked consistent access to advanced building-performance training can participate fully and succeed in meeting today’s energy and performance expectations.”

A 2024 survey of Massachusetts AIA architects found that only 15 percent feel capable of designing fully to current energy-code requirements, contributing to design errors, failed verification testing, construction delays, and missed performance targets. GreenPrint for Success aims to help provide training and education to small and medium sized firms and other communities that may lack resources and options to access vital information.

 Eligible participants* will receive:

• $25 for completing the survey
• An additional $75 for participating in a follow-up focus group, if selected.

Feedback from participants will directly shape New Ecology’s implementation grant proposal to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and the final design of the training program.

*Incentive is limited to the first 100 eligible participants
