New Ecology, Inc. Welcomes Kim Stevenson as New CEO

Boston, MA – January 29, 2024 – New Ecology, Inc., a leading non-profit dedicated to advancing sustainable development and high-performance building approaches in communities across the nation, announces the appointment of Kim Stevenson as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 12, 2024.

Stevenson comes to New Ecology with decades of experience focused on building a more equitable and sustainable future, particularly at the intersection of affordable housing and community development, clean energy, building science, and financing. Most recently, she served as Managing Director of Strategic Initiatives at Inclusive Prosperity Capital (IPC), a non-profit, mission-driven financial institution focused on financing clean energy and resiliency in underserved markets.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kim as our new CEO,” stated Peter Lowitt, Chair of the New Ecology Board of Directors. “Her proven track record in driving systemic change through strategic vision, collaborative partnerships, and a deep commitment to environmental and social justice makes her the ideal leader to propel New Ecology forward.”

In addition to her leadership role at IPC, Stevenson previously spent six years as the Director of Multifamily Housing at the Connecticut Green Bank, where the programs she oversaw funded $115MM in energy improvements, leveraging over $250MM in total housing investment, and served about 8% of all low- and moderate-income multifamily units in the state.  Many were smaller and distressed properties as well as condominiums and cooperatives, which are the hardest sectors to serve.  Her experience also includes management roles at the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, in city government, and consulting to private industry on innovation and clean energy related product development.

“I am honored to join New Ecology at such a pivotal time,” Stevenson said. “Building on the organization’s great legacy of greening communities and improving lives, I am eager to work alongside our dedicated team, partners, and supporters to amplify our impact and reach even more communities. Together, we will use the power of sustainable development and regeneration to create healthier, more resilient, and equitable communities where all can thrive.”
