New Ecology Celebrates Historic Climate Funding Awards

Boston, MA – April 4, 2024 – New Ecology, Inc. is happy to announce our inclusion in a coalition chosen by the EPA to receive Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) awards.

New Ecology, a proud partner in the Justice Climate Fund (JCF) Coalition, thanks the Biden Administration & the EPA for selecting JCF to begin award negotiations for the GGRF Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) program. The CCIA will focus on building community technical assistance hubs for community lenders financing clean energy projects.

New Ecology is one of 28 members of the JCF, the first-ever coalition of its kind, unified to improve environmental quality in the most affected communities and ensure that all communities equitably benefit from the GGRF.

These federal investments will help our country meet climate goals and reduce air pollution, advancing a better future for rural and urban families alike, including the communities we serve. The investments will also deliver greater economic security, creating better-paying jobs and opportunities for small businesses across America while also fostering financial inclusion via America’s Main Street financial institutions — the very community lenders that have delivered, for decades, financial opportunity, security and prosperity to struggling Americans. JCF’s network of community lenders serves 281 million Americans — or almost 86% of this nation — and includes more than 1,000 CDFIs across every state in the nation and multiple territories.

The White House and EPA announced several awardees in each group (see press release).

New Ecology welcomes the opportunity to work through the JCF to collaborate with the EPA to bring climate solutions, and their many benefits, to our nation’s communities and homes.
