Kelvin Valdes, Energy Engineer
Kelvin joined New Ecology in 2023, and serves as an Energy Engineer, where he provides energy efficient solutions for space heating and domestic water heating in multifamily buildings. This is essential work done through going to sites and learning of the existing equipment, taking pictures and measurements, and talking with site building managers for developing a plan on how to electrify or update the equipment in boiler rooms. For most of his professional career he has been working in education, and has experience working at a startup in the material science field. Prior to working at New Ecology, Kelvin has also worked retail at The Home Depot, a cook at IHOP, a cashier at Stop and Shop, and as a tutor. As a Latino who grew up in Miami and in upstate New York, he comes equipped with very diverse perspectives and experiences ready for thinking outside of the box and providing solutions for engineering needs.
