As a part of this effort, Mr. Sklarsky is managing the development of technology tools that will help member organizations streamline their energy audit and building analysis process, as well as continuous real-time monitoring of building energy performance. Prior to New Ecology, Mr. Sklarsky consulted for the Department of Energy during the initial implementation phases of the ARRA funded Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program. Most recently he was Chief Architect and Senior Consultant at Peregrine Energy Group, where he worked to bridge the gap between technical data analysis and clean energy policy development. Mr. Sklarsky received a Bachelor of Science degree in Planning in 2009 and a Master of City Planning degree in 2010 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His master’s thesis examined the challenges faced in using federal energy efficiency programs to accomplish economic recovery goals. At MIT, he co-authored a research paper investigating whether community-level energy data presentation and analysis can be transformational to society’s use of energy in buildings.
