Katie joined New Ecology in 2023 and now serves as an Associate Director for the organization. In this position she leads and executes strategic initiatives that build healthy, sustainable, and affordable communities, with an emphasis on housing preservation, environmental justice, and community education. Katie is also responsible for strategic planning and key development efforts in the Mid-Atlantic region. Before joining New Ecology, Katie worked for PennPraxis, the applied research, engagement, and practice arm of the University of Pennsylvania’s Weitzman School of Design, where she managed a diversity of planning and preservation projects. She continues to lead heritage-based planning studios at the Weitzman School of Design. Katie holds a bachelor’s degree, Master of City Planning, and Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania.
