Joyce Losick-Yang - Director of Decarbonization

PhD, CEM

Joyce joined New Ecology in 2025 as the Director of Decarbonization Services, where she oversees New Ecology’s work in helping housing providers comply with building performance standards by tracking energy use, improving air quality and cutting carbon emissions, all while keeping homes affordable. To do this work, Joyce and her team nurture strategic relationships with developers, governments, funders, insurers, utilities and other partners in both Massachusetts and the Mid-Atlantic region. Previously, Joyce was the Director of Sustainability and Energy for the Town of Andover where she developed Andover’s first community-wide Climate Action Plan, helped to pass the Opt-in Specialized Energy Code, obtained and managed over $2.5 million in grants to improve municipal building performance and install school rooftop solar, and launched the town’s electricity aggregation program. Joyce obtained her PhD from MIT, and her BA from Rutgers University. She lives in the Greater Boston area with her wife and grade-school kids and enjoys playing games, fishing, cooking, and reading during her free time.
