John Beaumont - Director of Engineering

John Beaumont, Director of Engineering at New Ecology, joined the organization in 2022, where he leads technical strategy and execution on high impact decarbonization initiatives, building performance evaluations, and green building certification programs. In this role, he directs energy audits, whole building energy modeling, performance calculations, design reviews, and technical guidance across public and private sector projects focused on low carbon, high performance buildings. John plays a pivotal role in advancing New Ecology’s Zero Over Time certification and other decarbonization frameworks that support the transition to equitable, resilient, and climate smart communities. Prior to joining New Ecology, John specialized in whole building energy modeling, conservation measure analysis, site assessments, feasibility studies, and parametric performance evaluations for diverse building portfolios, including multifamily residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, and laboratory projects. Throughout his career, he has applied advanced analysis and cross disciplinary collaboration to achieve optimized energy performance, greenhouse gas reductions, and sustainable design solutions. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Certified Energy Manager with deep expertise in building performance simulation and practical decarbonization pathways. Outside of his professional work, John is passionate about sustainable living, outdoor exploration, and hands on problem solving, from home renovation to classic car restoration, and enjoys hiking and skiing with his family.
