Bahareh van Boekhold – Project Manager, LEED AP O+M, BPI Multifamily
Bahareh joined NEI in 2017 as a Project Manager to support NEI’s program offerings in Delaware. Before joining NEI, she held positions as a Sustainable Building Planner and Energy Efficiency Planner with the State of Delaware’s Division of Energy and Climate. In her previous roles, she led the state’s high performance and green building policies and created a grant program to support sustainability efforts in local communities. She contributed to the development of the Delaware Climate Framework and worked with the Delaware State Housing Authority to devise climate mitigation and resiliency actions and strategies. She also supported the creation and implementation of policies addressing the state’s energy efficiency programs and building energy codes. Bahareh has a Masters of Architectural Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University and a Masters of Energy and Environmental Policy from the University of Delaware. At the University of Delaware, her study focused on sustainable energy and green buildings. She was a contributing member of the university’s greenhouse gas inventory and wrote her final thesis on net zero energy building policies.
