Monica Zgola – HR/Office Manager, joined New Ecology in April 2011, overseeing all daily office operations: managing the accounting, finance, technology and human resource needs of the organization. Through her tenure at NEI, Monica has helped support the company’s exciting growth, including significant augmentation to overall staff size, management of increasingly complex revenue and expense accounts for the Boston “home” office, along with fiscal administration of a $1.9 million, multi-year federal grant from the Office of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Massachusetts Green Retrofit Initiative. Since 2014, Monica has been involved with logistics of start-up operations for several NEI branch offices with JPB Foundation grant suppport. Currently, Monica focuses on company-wide HR management, including employee benefits and payroll, and overseeing the corporate insurance policies for NEI’s multi-state expansion, along with many other special projects. Prior to joining NEI, Monica worked with several Boston-area nonprofits in the out-of-school time and youth development fields, providing project management, programmatic outreach and general administrative support. Additionally, Monica helped manage the MA network affiliate of the National Afterschool Association, as well as provide direct care services as a youth group leader in NY and social/case work for a pre-independent living program in Somerville, MA. For three consecutive years, Monica directed top-to-bottom logistics of a day-long statewide conference for afterschool professionals held in Boston. Monica holds a BA in psychology from Binghamton University.
