Andrew Proulx – Senior Energy Engineer, P.E., LEED AP
Mr. Proulx joined New Ecology in May 2012 and has been involved in energy modeling; utility energy efficiency programs including the LEED® for Homes and Energy Star® for Homes programs; commercial and residential building science consulting; and efficiency upgrade design, specification and implementation. Prior to joining New Ecology, Inc., Mr. Proulx co-founded and worked for EnerSpective Inc. as Senior Technical Advisor. In that position, he completed numerous energy audits, specified building enclosure and systems upgrades and provided whole-building energy efficiency consulting services. For the first 20 years of his professional career, Mr. Proulx worked in various engineering positions at Millipore Corporation, where he designed and developed new products and manufacturing processes, and managed the product development cycle from initial product ideas and concepts to manufacturing. He is the inventor or co-inventor of six patents for product and process innovations in fluid filtration and separations. Mr. Proulx is a licensed mechanical engineer in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine, a LEED® Accredited Professional, and a member of numerous technical organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Lowell, Lowell, Massachusetts with a concentration in fluid mechanics and heat transfer. In his spare time, he enjoys communing with nature, gardening, home renovation and participating in creative activities.
